Pride & Joy Children's Academy
After one year of continuous enrollment of each child at Pride & Joy, you will be given two weeks to use for vacation or sick leave. Vacation and sick leave must be used in a one week period, not individual days . Please notify us two weeks prior to vacation.
We accept payment in the form of cash, check, or money order.
If you have more than one child at Pride & Joy we do offer a sibling discount of $5 off for the second child.
In addition to giving a second child discount, we also offer an individualized program for all Knox County Teachers. If you are a teacher, we would consider your child's calendar year to be from August-May. Because your child will be out during the summer, all you pay in May is a re-registration fee to hold your child's spot until August. Also, after one year (August-May) with us you will receive the two weeks of vacation or sick leave.
In order to keep our ratios and prices low, we do not offer part-time rates. We must staff each classroom according to the amount of children that may attend on any given day.
We are only closed on the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Black Friday, Christmas Eve & Day, New Year's Eve & Day, Memorial Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Good Friday, & July 4th. We are always open for Knox Co. inservice days, Fall Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break!
Because we are a private center, we do not follow Knox County snow days. In the event of severe weather conditions we will announce by 7:00 a.m. the intent to close or delay opening. This announcement will be made on WIVK 107.7 FM, WBIR-TV 10, WVLT-TV 8, and on our answering machine. If a public announcement is made that Knox County Schools are closed, and we will be opened, school-age children should not arrive before 8:30 a.m. to allow us to prepare for the additional children.
